Behrs bears up to become a 'Broke' girl

Janet Behrs in CBS' 'Two Broke Girls'Beth Behrs did not need to study on her role like a waitress in CBS' new Monday comedy "2 Broke Women." Between Hollywood auditions, she'd labored at Chili's."I dropped an entire plate of ales on the table of 10 my first evening," Behrs recalls.Calling it a plate rather than a tray might clue you for the reason that waitressing wasn't her factor."I have been doing theater since i have was 4," states Behrs, whose first-grade teacher-mother read her lines aloud so she could learn them. "I had been doing theater before I possibly could read."But despite American Conservatory Theater credits along with a UCLA stage degree, it's difficult receiving targeted gigs inside a town forever filled with cute youthful blondes. After reading through for a lot of roles as "the bitchy cheerleader or even the girl nearby who's not funny," Behrs was stoked to locate "authentic women" in "2 Broke Women."The fast-witted series from comedian Whitney Cummings and "Sex and also the City" showrunner Michael Patrick King casts her like a Manhattan heiress whose father manages to lose everything, departing her your Williamsburg diner alongside a streetwise new roomie and would-be business partner performed by Kat Dennings."Things I love about this is it's two women really performing jokes instead of setting them up," states Behrs, who like a kid in Virginia performed soccer up and lower the New England. "And That I reach perform the physical comedy, but I am not playing a dumb blonde.
